The "How Dare You Live Without Me!" Attitude

It cost him his life. 911 calls capture Henderson domestic shooting | Las Vegas Review-Journal

He was "unhappy" about how their relationship ended. So he showed up at her house, broke a bunch of windows, broke into the home, left to retrieve a firearm, and went back the home.

“He has a gun to my boyfriend’s head, ma’am, what do I do, what do I do?” she could be heard frantically asking the dispatcher.

Oh, there were 3 children in the home, when he decided that this was what he wanted to do. It was 4:30 in the morning, after all.

Eventually, she figured out what to do.

“I’m going to shoot him, ma’am,” she said.

About 30 seconds later, a single gunshot could be heard before she started crying.

A separate 911 call was received from a 9-year-old girl in the home.

“I’m very scared,” she said.

That 9-year-old witnessed the shooting and the death.

Even the dead-guy's stepfather said that he should not have broken the window, and added a firearm to the situation. Though they never want to admit that self-defense is a real thing.

In the days leading up to the shooting, Pinson sent Wright emails that suggested he was upset with how their relationship ended, which Spencer said would “bolster a claim of self-defense.”

He could not admit that the relationship was over. He could have gone out with friends. This happened in Las Vegas, so he could have spent the night gambling. Instead he thought it was a great idea to go threaten he ex-wife's new boyfriend.

If he wasn't dead, someone else would be. Maybe several people in that home would be dead.

There is more. The 911 calls provided a lot of detail, and there is security camera video that covers a portion of the encounter. (Though neither the complete 911 calls, nor the video are included in that article linked above.)

Cops don't expect charges to be filed, but that is up to the district attorney, and cops are still completing their investigation, before they forward everything to the DA's office.

Self-defense is a human-right. And in Nevada, it is mostly your legal right.
