Also attacking a cop for no apparent reason is also not a good idea. Naperville police release video that shows cop fatally shooting man as he runs at him with axe.
Naperville is a western suburb of Chicago, about 30 or 35 miles from the Loop, depending on whether or not you want to avoid paying tolls.
The officer is conducting a traffic stop for a “minor violation” when this guy, who was not connected with the vehicle that had been stopped, pulls up, jumps out, and attacks the officer with a hatchet. The politically correct Chief says that he “immediately charges at the officer with a hatchet in his hand,” but I think it is clearly an attack. A failed attack, but it is an attack nonetheless.
“This scene went quickly from a traffic stop for a minor violation to an attack on a police officer by an uninvolved party, demonstrating just how dangerous the job of a police officer is,” [Chief Jason] Arres said.
This is the raw video, both bodycam and dashcam, released by Naperville Police - 6/3/2022 Officer-Involved Shooting
Naperville only just started providing officers with bodycams, and not all officers have them yet.
The hat tip goes to Donut Operator, who as a breakdown of the shooting.
