They Said They Were Cops

Self-defense in Philadelphia? The media has trouble writing headlines to accurately describe what happened. Man Shoots, Kills Armed Robber Inside Victim's Home in Northeast Philly

It should read something like, "Victim Defends Himself from Armed Intruders."

A 25-year-old man was approached by two men, police said. The armed men forced the victim into his home, demanded money, then attempted to zip tie him and threatened to kill him, police said.

When the resident realized the two men were not police officers, he pulled out his own gun and shot one of the suspects, police said. The victim has a license to carry the firearm

Cops took the victim and his girlfriend in for questioning, but released them a short time later.

Even in Philadelphia, self-defense is a human-right. Though it remains to be seen whether or not it is a legal right.
