Canadians are apparently done being polite. At least where Trudeau is concerned. Parliament Jeers Prime Minister Trudeau During Speech About “Emergencies Act”
Trudeau announced that he was invoking the "Emergency Powers Act." He actually needs Parliament's approval to do so, and he hasn't been up for that yet. This leads some people to believe it was just about scaring the Truckers. (They don't seem scared.)
He faced several questions from the Opposition's leadership. In typical politician style, he didn't answer any of them.
When Trudeau explained he was implementing the “Emergencies Act” for the safety of Canadians, he was booed loudly. When he said he was demonstrating exemplary leadership, there were laughter and jeers. The Speaker of Parliament had to step in to quiet the uproar several times.
There is more at the link above, including a statement from someone with the Truckers' Protest, and a 5 minute video of the festivities in Parliament.
Hat tip to The Right Way: How to Tell When Your Effing Goose is Cooked. Which is worth it, just for the GIF of Julia Child. "Bon appetit."
