What happens when you get two Symphonic Metal Divas to sing a duet? You get a song that doesn't have much in the way of Metal, but is really beautiful. And so here we are on a Saturday morning.
Two sopranos, a Heavy Metal band - though playing some acoustic instruments - and a full orchestra, yield a very sweet song, that one won't jar you before the caffeine from your morning coffee has a chance to kick in. Just in case you were celebrating last night. Oh, and Happy New Year.
This song is "Somewhere" by Within Temptation with the Metropole Orchestra. It is one movement of the Black Symphony featuring vocals by Anneke van Giersbergen. Recorded live at The Ahoy, Rotterdam, The Netherlands on the 7th of February 2008.
