You can never be sure in a Blue State or City. No homicide charge for Staten Island man in son's slaying - New York Daily News
A Staten Island grand jury declined to bring homicide charges against a man who said his deadly shotgun blast to his son’s chest on New Year’s Eve was an act of self defense.
Joseph Leone Sr., 57, said he fired his shotgun to save his own life when his 29-year-old son, acting erratically because he was withdrawing from drug abuse, pointed a handgun at him, sources familiar with the case said.
Grand juries are mostly under the control of district attorney's, so the DA felt that he couldn't win. You don't think DAs care about Justice, do you? They care about winning. Usually.
