He Did What They Asked and They Shot Him Anyway

The gun-hating Left loves to say, "Just give them what they want, and you will be safe." They never want to talk about rape in that context, but even with a robbery, it just isn't true. Store clerk shot, killed following gas station robbery in Goshen

According to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Richard Harris was working when two men armed with guns walked inside the Sinclair gas station and demanded money. Deputies say Harris complied with their demanded but was shot and killed.

Cooperation with criminals is a strategy for dealing with a violent encounter. Companies love it. They often mandate that their employees, even people who are likely to face armed robbers, are disarmed. It is supposed to be for "everyone's protection." In reality it just makes the lawyers happy. (Lawyers, who will never face an armed robber as part of their business day.)

To my way of thinking, being disarmed in the face of a violent encounter is a bad idea. And so far, you are free to have your own opinion.

Cooperation is a strategy for getting through a violent encounter, and it may be how you start the encounter. But it should not be your only choice in a free country.

No one is in custody for this crime, and considering that it took place on September 19th I am not optimistic that police will solve it. Unless they have some DNA they can't identify, and eventually get that sample, I doubt Justice will ever be served.
