But actually throwing criminals in jail under the existing laws would be unfair. Do you think that enforcement might be selective? Meet the Chicago man who's been charged with illegal gun possession 4 times in 13 months | CWB Chicago
They want more laws to coerce the law-abiding, but actually punishing the habitual criminals in the big cities would be unfair.
June 7th of 2020.
prosecutors charged him illegally carrying a gun in West Englewood. He posted a $200 deposit to get out of jail on that.
August 13, 2020:
prosecutors charged him with carrying another gun illegally in West Englewood. He posted a $3,000 deposit, and a judge told him to stay in the house from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., but the judge didn’t make him wear a device to enforce the curfew, records show.
I'm sure he followed that order.
There was another "incident" in April of this year. And then on May 20th...
A judge sentenced him to one year in prison, records show. Authorities shipped him to Stateville Correctional Center on May 24, gave him the state’s standard 50% sentence reduction and credit for time spent in jail after his arrest, and sent him home the same day.
He was then arrested on Saturday, 31 July 2021 he was arrested with a loaded gun in the waistband of his pants.
[Judge John] Lyke set bail at $250,000 and ordered Barber to go onto electronic monitoring if he can post a 10% deposit. The judge also ordered Barber held without bail for violating the terms of bond in the other two pending gun cases.
Prosecutors did not mention any state plans to revoke Barber’s parole.
Prosecutors apparently have no plans to revoke his parole, because keeping violent criminals in prison would be unfair. (Ask AOC. She wants to eliminate ALL prisons.)
So this guy is charged again and again. I am somewhat surprised that he didn't kill someone before they put an end to it.
The gun-hating Left has laws that could hold him for a long time. But they ignore those laws because they are unfair.
