“She’s full of s--t.”

Chicago's Mayor, Lori Lightfoot, tried to turn the death of officer and the critical injury of another into a photo op/campaign event. Cops ‘at the breaking point’ turned their backs on Lightfoot, alderman says

The family of the injured officer didn't want her at the hospital. She was at the hospital. They didn't want her on the floor. She went up to the floor.

“She was told, ‘Don’t come upstairs’ several times. I know that because I was downstairs in the E.R. when her people were told that the family did not want her upstairs. And she went up there anyway,” Catanzara said.

The father “expressed his views,” [Fraternal Order of Police President John] Catanzara said, telling the mayor she was to blame.

Catanzara couldn’t agree more. State’s Attorney Kim Foxx is “not the only problem here.” Lightfoot is equally to blame, he said.

Pretty much no vehicle chases. The mayor's office just released a 13 page foot chase policy. So there will be no foot chases either. Bad Guys will have free run of the entire city.

And her office is trying to spin like crazy. All this divisive reporting and rhetoric should be shunned. Of course she will get back to that in a week or so.

Now, all of the sudden, she’s having a come-to-Jesus moment because she’s got John O’Malley as her deputy mayor? Nice enough dude, but enough is enough. Nobody’s buying it. She can say whatever the hell she wants and look like a hero. But she’s full of s--t.

Personally I think she's started to realize that people are waking up to her insane policies, and the real impact they are having on the people in the city. July was the 3rd worst (in terms of murders) since Chicago started keeping accurate records. Only the month of July in 1974 and 1999 saw more murders. A total of 600 people were shot (killed and wounded). Between noon on Friday and 6AM on Monday 13 people were killed and 74 were wounded. Carkacking more than doubled last year compared to 2019, and this year looks to be on track to about match 2020
