A four-time convicted gun offender who was free on a recognizance bond for allegedly injuring two officers who tried to escort him out of a hospital in March nearly killed two more cops with his car last week as he tried to escape a traffic stop, prosecutors said. And the man allegedly had another gun when police caught up with him on Tuesday.
Prosecutors on Tuesday accused an Englewood man of fatally shooting another man at point-blank range outside a laundromat in April. A bystander was also shot, but survived, according to the allegations.
Cory Wilson, 29, was on bail for a pending charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm and narcotics distribution at the time of the alleged shooting. He is the 38th person accused of killing, trying to kill, or shooting someone in Chicago this year while on felony bond.
Englewood is one of the 77 neighborhoods in Chicago. HeyJackass! has it listed as the most dangerous neighborhood in the city with 42 murders and 234 wounded.
The whole affordable bail system was instituted by the Democrats because they didn't think cash bail was fair. Maybe it isn't. But just turning violent bad-guys loose to threaten, maim and kill other people is also not fair, not to the vicitms and their families.
