The anniversary of a sad day in American history happens in a couple or three days. The shooting at Kent State University on 4 May 1970.
This song was one of the ones featured, at least briefly in a Rick Beato video on the "Top 10 Drop D Songs of All-Time" back in December. It is not one of the songs on that list. Most drop D songs are more of the Heavy Metal persuasion, but it is one of the early songs in Drop D.
If you don't know what drop D tuning is for a guitar, the first couple of minutes of Rick's video will explain it better than I can.
As for the song... "Four dead in Ohio" is the main feature of the refrain that most people remember.
This is "Ohio" by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Though it is the remastered version form 2017. It was released as a single in June of 1970. With the lyric, "Four dead in Ohio," it is, of course, a reaction to the shootings at Kent State University on May 4th of that year.
