  1. Speaking of "Die Hard is a Christmas Movie", I went searching for it on our streaming service (Hulu + Live TV) and found it was only on one time on Christmas, at something like 8PM and only on HBO Max.

The side effect of everybody dropping cable and moving to streaming services is that a bunch of movies that used to be on TV all the time are moving to being exclusive for some streaming service, and "everybody's got to get into the act" (do your best Jimmy Durante voice for that).

Then think of Star Trek Discovery on CBS streaming, instead of being over the air. Three (four?) new Marvel series on Disney +. If you want to watch one show on a bunch of different streaming services at $5 each, think $5/month for 50 different streaming services. It makes the old gripe that, "I'm paying for 450 channels of cable and there's nothing worth watching" into almost a good old days story.

    1. That's why I own a copy. DVDs and BD disks are expensive when a movie is new, not so much a few years down the road.

I was mad about ST: Discovery until I saw a couple of episodes at a friend's house.

But I decided a while back that none of it was worth it. CBS, Disney, Hulu, Netflix, whatever. 10 bucks a month is too much. Now if I could subscribe to one of them for 10 bucks and see everything I wanted, I might be tempted.

Though I know of at least one person, who signed up for Disney, binge watched The Mandelorian, and then canceled Disney. So 7 or 10 bucks or whatever to watch an entire season's worth.

I pay for music streaming because that is important to me, and I read.
