Yet Another Failure of the Victim-selection Process

He thought robbing a store was a good idea. After robber shot at New Orleans store clerk, her co-worker returned fire, killing him.

A robber came into a store, grabbed a drink, then drew a weapon and demanded money. Then he started shooting at the cashier. Another employee was in the store at the time of the robbery.

The other employee heard the gunshots and armed himself before pushing the cashier on the ground.

"He told the robber, 'Drop to the floor and put your gun down,'" Hingel said.

The robber fired several more shots in the employees' direction. But the armed staffer shot back, fatally wounding the robber, police said.

The owner is "shocked" that his store wasn't protected from crime by his zip code.

The would-be bad-guy has not been identified, and though they don't say in the article, I am sure that the investigation continues. Louisiana has a good track record when it comes to respecting your right to self-defense, and it seems this is fairly clear. There is even security camera video of the entire incident.

Self-defense is a human-right.
