They asked to raise taxes 3 times, and are shocked to discover that they might actually have to cut expenses instead. Findlay City Schools searching for new plan following third failed levy of 2020
Findlay City School voters decided against an operating levy twice earlier in 2020, so the Trojans decided to come to the ballot with an even smaller operating levy on Tuesday night.
They asked for 5.9 mill levy TWICE in 2020. The last time was in August. It was voted down twice. Then they decided to ask for a 3.9 mill levy in the latest election. The level of millage would cost a homeowner $136.50 a year for every 100,000 dollars of value in their property.
In 2020. When EVERYONE is dealing with no money (and no work) government wants people to volunteer to pay taxes. Only a public sector employee could be so dense.
But then reality is a thing that doesn't impact the schools. They are not aware of how governors (Ohio included) have been shutting things and making it impossible for people to earn a living. Well why should the be aware? The checks just keep showing up, even if they don't show up.
