Home invaders are still getting shot. Homeowner shoots intruder during burglary, police investigating
The homeowner told officers he was awakened by an unusual noise coming from his living room and, when he went to investigate, encountered an unknown male inside the home. Police said the homeowner fired, striking the individual.
The guy who got shot ran, but police found him after a short search of the area. He was flown to San Antonio for medical treatment.
Police said criminal charges against the suspect are pending as the investigation continues.
Del Rio, Texas, is about 140 miles west of San Antonio.
Self-defense is human right, and southwest Texas is a long way, both figuratively and geographically, from New York City.
