How times have changed. An October with this kind of warm weather in 2020–2022 would’ve been more of a bloodbath (which they were) and even then, crime would still have been down.
The final tally for October 2026 is 35 killed, by any means, and 108 shot and wounded. This compares to 72 killed, and 294 shot and wounded in 2020, and 67 killed, 249 shot and wounded in 2022.

So is this level of improvement a good thing, or are we just numb to the current numbers? I have no answer. I believe that in a truly civilized society, there would be more recognition of Right and Wrong. The Left hates the very idea of Right and Wrong, because it is too much like Good and Evil.
Still, it is better than it was, though now the chaos seems to have moved to Europe.
