An Upstate New York homeowner shot and killed an apparent intruder who broke into his residence early Monday morning, according to police.
Rochester police responded to the scene on Avery Street at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Monday after a neighbor reported hearing gunshots.
If you come, uninvited, to my house at 4:30 in the morning, you will find me in a really vile mood.
Rochester Police Capt. Frank Umbrino told reporters that the shooting appears to be justified as the resident used a legally registered handgun and possesses a valid New York state pistol permit, according to WHEC.
Rochester is on Lake Ontario. It about halfway between Syracuse and Buffalo, or it is roughly a 70 mile drive east of Buffalo.
Self-defense is a human right, and it might be your legal right in the State of New York, depending on where you find yourself in the state.
