End of You

Poppy is an American singer/songwriter who also did some YouTube creating I am not familiar with. Amy Lee is the lead singer for Evanescence; which is one of my favorite bands. (They show up in several of my playlists.) Courtney LaPlante is lead singer for the Canadian Heavy Metal Band Spiritbox. There is a touch of the Death Metal, Death Growl on today's song supplied by Ms. LaPlante.

Those three artists teamed up for a single that was released in September of 2025.

This is "End of You" by Poppy, Amy Lee, and Courtney LaPlante. Albums are such a 20th Century concept.

My talent for keeping up with new music is slipping... I only found out about this song recently.

  1. Hell Deb, I keep up with music by reading your posts! To me you're a trailblazer. Then again, I am an old fart ...

    1. You're only as old as you feel... which makes me older than dirt some days.

  2. I keep up with music by tuning in the local community college radio station, not all of the new stuff is rap.

    1. Rap is very 1990s... at least it is starting to seem that way. Spotify has a playlist Rock This, and another, Kickass Metal (I think) that is not the Pop lists most people cover. You can get a free account on Spotify (or you could at one time) if you agree to commercials. (The commercials are frequent and loud, but for listening to the 10 or 20 songs on Rock This it is bearable.

  3. This is one of the best new songs that I have heard in awhile. I find that the producer has done an especially great job not only mixing, but in how they allowed the voices to be what they are. I mean, strong when they need it, and gentle and feeling when the writing calls for it.
Evanescence is also one of my guilty pleasures.
I was born in 1960, so I relate mostly to things from the 60's and 70's. But there are also a number of more modern singers and groups that are doing the thing that always made my old music the best that there is. Good musicians who can also sing. It seems that no matter the newest thing to come out, be it auto tune or weird technology, it always comes back to people who can play their instruments and sing well.

    1. There are a number of bands that produce music in the old style. Tremonti, and Alter Bridge come to mind. Slash (guitarist for Guns-N-Roses) has some stuff that is interesting. There are a lot of European bands (that sing in English) like Lacuna Coil that do some nice stuff. Musicians that can perform live. They are a bit harder to find.
