A Court Order Is Just a Piece of Paper

But if it is never served, it isn't even a court order. The High Stakes and Scandals Facing Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart | Chicago Contrarian

There are many problems in the Cook County Sheriff's Department. This one caught my attention.

As Dart navigates his historic tenure, a wave of systemic failures has drawn intense scrutiny. A data analysis by CBS Chicago revealed the Sheriff’s Office failed to serve 75 percent of the orders of protection issued between 2021 and 2023, leaving thousands of domestic violence victims vulnerable.

If that number was 15% you might say that they are understaffed, or something, but when ¾ of the court orders are not being served, I have to wonder if they are even trying.

The Left loves to go on about how you need to get a court order, so that the system will protect you. It is all lies.

The case of Castle Rock v. Gonzales, 545 U.S. 748 (2005) held that...

There is no procedural due process claim when a local government does not actively enforce a restraining order to protect its holder.

Translation, you are on your own, even if the court order (that piece of paper) has been served.

If the court order has not been served, you are on your own.

I have long stated that if you need a court order of protection, you need a plan for your personal safety, because no one, is coming to save you.
