Another selection from WXRT's Saturday Morning Flashback. This is from a late April show.
1990 was a pretty good year. The films from that year include The Hunt for Red October, Ghost, Awakenings, Home Alone, Pretty Woman, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
World Party was the project of Karl Wallinger. He was the only consistent member of the group. Wallinger started World Party after he left Water Boys. He stopped touring, releasing albums under the name World Party in 2015, though he was reportedly working on a new album in 2023. Considering the first album came out in 1987, that is not a bad run. Wallinger passed away in 2024 at the age of 66.
This song is "Put the Message In the Box" by World Party from their 1990 album Goodbye Jumbo.
