Easter Weekend in Chicago

HeyJackass! brings us the data in Mostly Hol(e)y Weekend. Crime takes no holiday.

Years ago some had called for and tried “Thou Shalt Not Murder” Easter Sunday which unsurprisingly didn’t work out as planned. This Easter, the apparent plan is to let cooler temps with some precipitation do its thing by tamping down on the violence and wildings teen mobs teen trends “large gatherings”.

While the number of murders were about average for an Easter weekend in Chicago, the total number of shootings were about half, or a little less than half, of what is usual.

The final tally was three killed, while nine were shot and wounded. The average since 2015 is 4 killed, and 24 shot and wounded.
