Authorities said one man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. He was airlifted to a regional trauma center for treatment. Investigators are currently speaking with him as part of the ongoing investigation.
A second man who was at the scene and is believed to be the shooter was detained by deputies for questioning.
After the questioning, the shooter was released. Evidence pointed to self-defense.
Georgetown County, South Carolina is about 40 miles northeast of Charleston, and about 15 mile southwest of Myrtle Beach.
The sheriff is still investigating. After that investigation is complete the DA will actually make determinations about charges.
Self-defense is a human right, and it is usually recognized as a legal right in South Carolina.
