A YouTube channel that I listen to from time to time was covering The White Album recently, which got me to listen to the album, for the first time in decades. It really is (almost) the only Beatles album that I like. I like other songs from their other albums, and while I don't like every song, overall I like this album.
That said, I think you can start to hear the fracturing in this album. It is almost like two (maybe more) albums from different groups. Or two artists moving in different directions. Ringo Starr apparently quit the band for two weeks in August of 1968 during the recording.
Anyway, let's listen to a song.
This is "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" by The Beatles from their 1968 album The Beatles, which is commonly known as The White Album. It is their ninth album, and the only double album they produced. (This is the 2009 remastered version.)
The YT channel is run by Isaac Brown. He is a Gen Z musician/producer who has realized that he doesn't know much about music from the 1960s and 1970s.
