According to the reports, a 28-year-old man named Anthony Walker Jr. was killed in the 1700 block of Maiden Lane. But this wasn’t just some random act of violence; it was a confrontation that proved exactly why so many of us choose to carry, even when we’re just relaxing at home.
Springfield, Ohio is roughly 30 miles northeast of Dayton.
When you’re staring down the barrel of a gun in your own living room, you don’t have the luxury of hesitation. The homeowner had his own firearm ready, returned fire, and neutralized the threat.
I don't know what the 911 response time is in Springfield, but I am sure it is measured in minutes, not seconds. Even if he could have dialed 911 - he could not, since he was faced with an armed intruder - that would have done him very little good in the moment.
The Springfield Police Division has been clear: this was self-defense. The shooter, who clearly had his wits about him, managed to defend himself against an armed assailant.
Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.

DAs who prosecute cases like this, just to see what they can get away with, should be disbarred. Then they should personally, not their employer, pay the defense costs.
