The Agonist is a band I tripped over a few years back. Probably during the lockdowns, as I had a lot of time to explore new-to-me music. I never really explored much of their music at the time, but of late I have started to dive into some of it. As usual, I like some of it, I don't like some of it. I featured a song from them in November, which started me listening to more of their music.
The Agonist is a Canadian Melodeath Metalcore band out of Montreal. Metalcore = Heavy Metal crossed with Hardcore Punk. (It isn't usually my type of music.) Melodeath = Melodic Death Metal. I should have known this band, because Alissa White-Gluz was the lead singer before she joined Arch Enemy. The lead singer for today's song is Vicky Psarakis, a Greek-American from Chicago. The rest of the band is as follows: Danny Marino playing lead guitar, Pascal "Paco" Jobin on rhythm guitar, Chris Kell playing bass, and Simon McKay on drums.
This song is "Danse Macabre" by the Agonist from the 2015 album Eye of Providence.
