But then I thought it was. Bradenton New Year’s shooting ‘justified’ after kidnapping attempt, sheriff says
During an investigation, detectives discovered that minutes before the shooting, [Nicholas] Palomo attempted to abduct the shooter’s wife while she was walking her dog, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies say the woman ran from Palomo’s vehicle and returned to her home, where she told her husband of the altercation.
The husband confronted Palomo on his property, during which he threatened the homeowner. Palomo was shot once in the torso; he did not survive.
Bradenton, Florida is about a 25 mile drive south of downtown St. Petersburg (from the area near the Yacht Basin), or about a 10 or 15 mile drive north of Sarasota's Bayfront Park.
“Based on the information gathered during the investigation, the (State Attorney’s Office) determined that the homeowner acted in self-defense and that his actions were justified,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a news release.
As part of the investigation, deputies say they learned that Palomo caused a disturbance at a Circle K convenience store near the residence, and “seemed to be under the influence of drugs,” the sheriff’s office said.
So this might be another example of drugs being bad for your health. Might be. Toxicology takes longer than it does on Crime Scene Investigation or NCIS, so those results are not available.
Self-defense is a human right, and it seems to by your legal right in Florida.
