First he got shot, then he was arrested. Redlands homeowner shoots intruder

Police responded to a report of shots fired shortly before midnight Jan. 15. Investigators said the homeowner had just arrived home and discovered an intruder inside the residence.

According to police, the homeowner armed himself with a handgun and began checking the house. During the search, the homeowner encountered the intruder, who pointed a shotgun at him. The homeowner fired his weapon, striking the suspect, then immediately exited the house and called 911.

Redlands, California is about 70 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

The guy who got shot was taken to a local hospital, and then to lockup.

There wasn't even a mention of charging the homeowner with anything. I guess the media in California is finally beginning to see how this works. Whether they like it or not, is, of course, another story.

Self-defense, which is a human right, seems to be catching on in California.
