Command economies NEVER work. They fail spectacularly when the commands revolve around power generation and vehicle production, and the politicians issuing those commands have absolutely no understanding of the physics and engineering of power generation, or electric vehicle production.

It is always wise to vote against central planning. And electric vehicles were mostly a creation of central planning.
As soon as the push (incentives) were removed, that artificially created demand evaporated.
