Click thru for "Arcangelo" by Thijs van Leer. It is adaptation of "Gigue From Sonata Op. 5 No. 9" by Arcangelo Corelli, which was first published 1 January, 1700.
A gigue is a baroque dance that evolved from the English jig, and was eventually included in more formal musical offerings. (So ends the music history lesson for the day.)
UPDATE: I should have said that "Arcangelo" is from the 1979 album Introspection 4. I should also have mentioned that Thijs van Leer was the keyboardist, vocalist, and flutist for the rock band Focus.
