Maybe not buy Samsung ANYTHING. Worried About Ads On Your Samsung Smart Fridge? Here's How To Disable Them
So you bought a $2000 or $3000 fridge, and now Samsung is going to show you ads on your fridge. So far there is a way to "opt out." Do we believe that will remain the case?
In September, Samsung announced that it would be bringing ads to some of its most expensive smart fridges. The announcement came out as part of a changelog, with the company later confirming that the patch notes weren't fake, as some users hoped. While Samsung doesn't initially plan on bringing ads to all of the smart fridge's different themes, those who use the Weather or Color themes will start to see ads now along the lower-third of the screen
So go ahead and follow the instructions to opt out. I believe they will eventually get rid of the "opt out" option.
Or you will need to watch the ad before you can open the fridge.
Stop. The. Madness.

Wait... I see the problem. These idiots bought Internet-enabled appliances and VOLUNTARILY connected them to their networks.
ReplyDeletePro Tip: I've been using refrigerators for several decades, and never once did I need to connect one to the Internet for it to keep my food cold.
These folks deserve what they get.
Until such time as the refrigerator won’t even work unless it’s hooked up. I have marginally reliable internet from the big phone company of old. The connection is lost usually about twice a week. When that happens my printer goes off line and I have to go through a series of steps to reconnect. I don’t need to do the same thing to get a glass of ice.
