They got rid of ShotSpotter, and no one is calling 911. Slain man lays undiscovered in South Side ward that fought to keep ShotSpotter - CWB Chicago
A 61-year-old man was found lying dead outside his Auburn Gresham home early Friday, the latest gunshot victim to go undiscovered in a neighborhood once monitored by the city’s ShotSpotter system.
Officers responded to the 7600 block of South Sangamon around 1:25 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a man down outside their door.
Police found the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
We will probably never know if he could have survived, had ShotSpotter dispatched police, then EMTs, to the scene when the shooting occurred. Mayor Brandon considered it "over-policing" of neighborhoods that had a lot of gunfire.
On this page, CWBChicago tracks cases where people have been found shot in areas that were previously covered by ShotSpotter without timely accompanying 911 calls.
70% of Chicaogans wanted ShotSpotter to continue, and people were raising money to pay for the system outside of the tax base. Mayor Brandon Johnson didn't care; he canceled the system. It is almost like the Democrats want there to be lawlessness and chaos in our cities.

Almost like????
