DAs are most affected. Not guilty: Jurors find man acted in self-defense during fatal shootout in Jackson
It took the jury 3 hours of deliberation to decide the case. What is the minimum amount of time that it would take a jury to deliberate? What is the minimum amount of time they would deliberate and still get lunch? (Though I don't know that they got lunch.)
The guy who got shot had a gun. There were bullets missing from the gun. This would imply that the defendant did have a fear of death or grave bodily injury.
And still the DA had to prosecute.
Jackson, Michigan is about a 35 mile drive west of Ann Arbor, or about a 75 mile drive west of Detroit.
Self-defense is a human right, and it seems to be your legal right in Michigan, depending on what the DA feels like.

Again, this is not a case of right or wrong. It's a case of what the prosecutor can get away with.
