Do we even know our neighbors today? Intruder shoots at Cleveland County homeowner, before neighbor fires gunshots of own
The incident began around 10:55 p.m., when a homeowner noticed lights on at a home next-door under remodel. The homeowner suspected a break-in and, after walking outside, saw a man in a yellow sweatshirt carrying something, according to deputies.
When the homeowner confronted the man, the man shot at him, investigators said.
After the neighbor intervened and shot at the suspect, the man fled
Investigators have no evidence that anyone was shot.
Grover, North Carolina is about a 40 mile drive west of Charlotte.

Other neighbors told local media that the community is prepared to defend itself against violent criminals. Clayton Campbell explained to reporters that anyone threatening the community needs to be warned.
“We’ve always told people not to mess around down here because we’ll do what we have to do to protect our homes,” Campbell declared.
