While I didn't post anything, I have been following the hurricane. Hurricane Melissa: Jamaica wakes up to destruction as storm pummels Cuba - National | Globalnews
It was a very powerful hurricane. After tearing up Jamaica, and crossing Cuba, it has lessened to a Category 1 hurricane, as it crosses the Bahamas. (In the 8PM EDT advisory last night, maximum winds were 90 MPH.)
Hurricane Melissa, the strongest storm to ever hit Jamaica, and the largest on record this year, left widespread destruction in its wake Tuesday, obliterating buildings, ripping off roofs and flinging debris across the island.
Jamaica is mostly prepared for storms, with shelters and such, but there isn't a lot you can do to prepare for a category 5 storm. Trees down, power lines down, buildings damaged, etc.
