Two guys tried to rob a grocery store. They apparently had a toy gun (it was found in the getaway car), but the clerk had a real gun. One of the two guys was shot in the ankle.
One guy fled on foot, and the other in a car.
A chase ensued, but eventually ended when the driver drove down an embankment at the dead end of Phenix Street.
The driver, identified as Nixzon Eduardo Garcia-Carrillo, 30, left the scene but was later located on Bennett Drive by the sheriff’s office drone K9 team. Investigators also located a toy gun, gloves, and a powdery substance inside the suspect vehicle.
He faces a raft of charges, including Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and there is an immigration order for his detainment.
Garcia-Carrillo is originally from Honduras and has an immigration order to be deported from the U.S.
