I'm sorry for his family, but maybe they should have tried to raise him differently. 15-year-old fatally shot during "robbery gone bad," Detroit police say; 2 in custody - CBS Detroit
That 15-year-old kid was the robber.
A 15-year-old was attempting to rob a man in his 20s, who has a concealed pistol license and was armed, when the teen was fatally shot, officials said.
Officers found the teen around four blocks from where they initially responded.
It is a hard lesson, but if you try to rob people, you might run into someone who is also armed.

Hm...I'm curious as to what they would define as a "robbery gone good".
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that this one didn't turn out bad at all. The threat was stopped without harm to the victim. The only way it could have gone better is if the perpetrator had not tried to rob the victim in the first place.
One thing I note...they don't say who was arrested at the scene of the shooting. The victim? That would suck, but wouldn't be surprising in Detroit.
The headline is clearly to make someone browsing the media's site to think "a teen tragically shot." The only surprising thing is that it is clear in the first sentence that the kid was the robber. Usually they obfuscate that for a few paragraphs because most peopled don't read the whole story.
