Self-defense is becoming quite the thing in California, and even in Deep Blue Los Angeles. North Hollywood resident opens fire on home invasion suspect trying to climb through window - CBS Los Angeles
Upon arrival, [police] were told that a person had attempted to enter a home and that the resident had fought them off and opened fire. Police said that the homeowner heard a noise in their kitchen and found an unknown man climbing through their window.
Police were alerted to a man arriving shortly thereafter at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. That guy was in surgery when this article was published.
Self-defense is a human right. It remains to be seen whether or not the LA District Attorney considers it a legal right.
