“The elderly homeowner, suspecting his wife had arrived home from church, then heard a man’s voice and retrieved a handgun from his bedroom,” Cherokee Village Police Chief Monte Lane said.
The release said the homeowner backed into a corner in his home and told the intruder to “stop” which police said he did not do.
And so the homeowner shot him several times. The home invader did not survive.
Cherokee Village, Arkansas is roughly a 140 mile drive north-northeast of Little Rock. Or about 135 mile drive northwest of Memphis, Tennessee.
As for being a bad guy in the State of Arkansas, I would guess that a lot of the law-abiding population is armed.
The investigation is ongoing, but the police have arrested no one.
