Texans are heavily armed. The bad guys don't seem to understand that. HPD: Homeowner shoots would-be burglar in Northeast Houston
Add in the fact that the Criminal Justice System is not on the side of the criminal, and Texas is a bad place to be a bad guy.
A homeowner notices that two guys were trying to break into his car. This was just after midnight, so though it doesn't say, I am thinking that there must be some kind of security system in place.
One of the two was shot. One was not. Both are charged with burglary.
“The DA’s office did accept charges on the suspects that were breaking into the vehicle for BMV and then they declined charges on the homeowner as he was protecting his property,” said Lt. Kham with the Houston Police Department.
Maybe I should move to Texas, where self-defense is apparently not the end of the story.
