A guy got into a shootout with police, and shot one officer. He ran, and a "suspicious person" was reported by a school resource officer. In response to the guy near the school the police issued a "shelter in place" order, which warned the community.
APD officers ran after him and followed him into the Barton Hills subdivision where he tried to enter a home, but was shot in the arm and leg by the homeowner.
The suspect is stable. The officer underwent surgery and is recovering.
Self-defense is a human right, and this didn't take place in Canada.
