New York v Second Amendment Rights

New York will seemingly do anything and everything to deny 2A rights. From Bearing Arms: Federal Judge Affirms Second Amendment Rights Cross State Lines

We don't lose our First Amendment, Fourth Amendment, Fifth Amendment, or any other enumerated rights when we visit another state, so why should our Second Amendment rights stop at the border of the state where we live?

A federal judge in New York has reached the obvious conclusion in a case dealing with the inability of non-residents to lawfully bear arms in the state: such a policy baldly violates the right to keep and bear arms.

The ruling doesn't make NY State recognize other states licenses, but they have to provide a way for out-of-state people to get a concealed carry license. If you travel to NY regularly, it might be worth it, though I'm sure it is expensive. Can't have the poor people with the right to bear arms. (Hat tip to MaddMedic)

  1. States like New York and California are being forced to accommodate CCW for non residents. Their response is to make the hoops and hurdles so difficult as to render it essentially impossible. In Kali it's difficult, expensive and time consuming to get a CCW...if you are a resident. If you are a non resident those difficulties are orders of magnitude more complex. What is truly needed is for the Fed gov to treat CCW like driving. Have a valid drivers license you can drive in any state. That reciprocity needs to be applied to CCW. Take it out of the hands of agenda driven petty bureaucrats.
