Texans are still armed, bad Guys are Still Getting shot, and even in Texas neighbors are shocked. Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies looking for more victims after they say robbery suspect was shot by homeowner - ABC13 Houston
You can also chalk this up to the failure of the victim-selection process.
Investigators say Cantera pointed a gun at a neighbor on Wednesday morning a few houses down from Torres and took a man's keys and wallet.
Deputies say the family of the victim came outside when Cantera pointed his gun at them and fired. That's when investigators say the homeowners shot Cantera in the leg.
Investigators are looking for other victims that have not reported crimes to law enforcement.
As for the neighbors...
Mauro Torres Zamora has been living on Victoria Street in east Harris County for years.
He says he was surprised to learn what happened a few doors down and that he's never seen Cantera before.
OK, so maybe "shocked" is an overstatement. He was "Surprised" that people in Texas are armed and defend themselves and their relatives. I'm more surprised when someone in Texas is not armed.
18 year old Anthony Cantera is facing aggravated robbery charges, once he gets out of the hospital. And really, he is lucky they didn't shoot him in the chest or the head. Somehow I doubt he feels lucky.
Self-defense is a human right, and this took place in Cloverleaf, Texas, which is about a 15 mile drive east of downtown Houston. Cloverleaf is an unincorporated part of Harris County, Texas.
