Gunship is a British synthwave band. Lights is a Canadian musician, singer, comic book author and artist, and songwriter. They have teamed up for today's song.

Synthwave is an outgrowth of French House Music. It is described as sounding like the soundtracks to Sci-Fi movies. (I'm not sure that this song fits, aside from the lyrics.) House Music in general is an outgrowth of the music found in the clubs from Chicago, Detroit, New York, etc. and probably some places like West Berlin, from the 80s and 90s, and earlier.
