Emmaline is a singer, currently based in Nashville. She is a Jazz singer in the old style, and I really like the songs I've heard so far. As I type this, it isn't a lot, because I only recently was introduced to her work by Miguel Gonzalez.
Sometimes you just want to listen to a beautiful voice, with a bit of an accompaniment, that isn't too harsh.
This is "Dream A Little Dream of Me" by Emmaline. It is a cover of a Jazz classic that was originally recorded in the 1930s by Ozzie Nelson. You are probably familiar with the version by the Mamas and the Papas from 1968, though you may know the Robbie Williams duet with Lily Allen from 2013.
I can't handle her voice, to nasal. I prefer Cass Elliot's version.
ReplyDeleteProbably agree with you... this is closer to the original by Ozzie Nelson (1931)
DeleteI find it mostly interesting because I can't hear any AutoTune, people are playing real instruments, and all the musicians are in one place at one time, making this essentially a live performance. That makes this as rare as hens' teeth or a clear photo of Bigfoot.
