For all the years I took piano lessons, I never learned to play jazz piano. I had a teacher early on who could have taught me, but he moved away from our small town. Hard to blame him, I moved away as soon as I could. Most piano I find dreadful. Too much of it sounds like etudes and exercises, but jazz piano can be amazing.
The Ramsey Lewis Trio, at least for this album, consisted of Ramsey Lewis playing the piano, Eldee Young on the bass, and Issac "Red" Holt playing drums. It should be calm enough, with a bit of energy, while we wait for the coffee to take hold.
This is "Look-A-Here" by The Ramsey Lewis Trio from the 1963 album Pot Luck.
