Nickel mining in Indonesia is one of the ways that the push for Electric Vehicles is destroying the environment, killing people, and with the financial backing of the Chinese, is killing the ability to produce nickel cleanly in places like Australia.
You can add this cost to the environmental impacts of lithium mining in South America, and the children mining cobalt in Africa.
