Lacuna Coil is one of my favorite European Metal bands, and they've even managed to get some attention in America. Not an easy thing for European bands, even when they are singing in English. The suits who run the music industry, for the most part don't like Metal, don't understand Metal, and can't be bothered about anything that isn't Taylor Swift.
The singers are Cristina Scabbia, who has a beautiful voice, and Andrea "Andy" Ferro who adds a bit of harshness to the mix. Together they work well. The rest of the band is Marco Coti Zelati on bass, Diego Cavallotti playing guitar, and Richard Meiz on drums.
This song is "Blood, Tears, Dust" by Lacuna Coil from their 2016 album Delirium. This is a lyrics video, though there is an "official music video" if you're interested. I find official video even more distracting than usual.
I just heard the duet she did with Dave Mustaine on A Tout Le Monde last week (because I live under a rock). I feel she has a wonderful voice.
ReplyDeleteA lot of European Metal groups have incredibly talented musicians, and with the exception of Rammstein and a few other "New German Hardness" bands, they all sing in English. Or mostly. But they are not known much on this side of the Atlantic
