Especially in a country where self-defense is pretty much illegal. Toronto’s 911 response times improving after peaking in 2023, Olivia Chow says
The average response time is now 12.6 minutes, down from 19.6 minutes this time last year, the Toronto Police Service noted in a release. According to Chow, the average 911 response time peaked to 26.7 minutes in October 2023.
26 minute wait for a response to a 911 call means that you are pretty much on your own. Canada doesn't recognize the human right of self-defense, so that makes it even worse.

Calling 911 is a fine thing to do. Help won't be there instantly.
