Teenage Boy Defends His Mother

He defended her from attack by his father. Fatal shooting investigated as possible justifiable homicide

Domestic violence is a terrible thing.

Police units were dispatched to a residence in the 13000 block of Turquoise Ave NE, near Tramway and Copper, after reports of shots fired around 9 p.m. Upon arrival, officers detained a teenage boy and interviewed family members who described a physical altercation between the boy’s parents.

The son shot his father during the fight. The man was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The police and the DA decided not to arrest the boy, since self-defense, and defense of others, is a human right.

The gun-hating part of the Left (no, it isn't all of the Left) loves to go on at length about how if you own a gun, you are more likely to shoot someone you know than a complete stranger. There is a reason for that, as this story highlights.

The downside of a domestic violence incident like this, is the impact it will have on that kid. Hopefully he can accept that what he did needed doing, but I imagine it will be tough to do that in these circumstances.
