Break into Homes in Florida, and Expect to Get Shot

Law enforcement won't have any sympathy for you. Ruskin homeowner's son shot suspected burglar to death, deputies say | FOX 13 Tampa Bay

This guy decided to break into a home in Florida, and found an armed resident.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the suspect dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

That shouldn't surprise anyone.

Ruskin, Florida, is due east (directly across Tampa Bay) from St. Petersburg, or about a 20 mile drive south of Tampa.

As for law enforcement...

"Imagine the fear of being awoken in the middle of the night to a stranger invading your home," said [Hillsborough County] Sheriff Chad Chronister in a statement. "This is every homeowner's greatest fear, a dangerous and brazen individual breaking in, showing a complete disregard for the safety and security of others. Our thoughts are with this family as they recover from the trauma of this event."

No sympathy for the family of the dead guy. If you want sympathy in Florida, don't do things that are illegal and likely to get you shot.

Self-defense is a legal right, and mostly your legal right in Florida.
